Abstract

The rise of digital platforms and the widespread availability of information have created both opportunities and challenges for religious communities, especially the Coptic Orthodox Church. While the internet offers the potential for greater outreach and engagement, it also exposes believers to a wide range of potential theological misinformation and distorted interpretations of Christian doctrine. Artificial Intelligence (AI) has emerged as a promising solution to these issues by providing tools that can enhance the preservation of doctrinal integrity, assist in theological education, and promote the authentic teachings of the Church in the digital sphere. This paper explores the role of AI in safeguarding Christian teachings, focusing on its applications in the Coptic Orthodox Church. Through verification of theological content, combating misinformation, enhancing scriptural understanding, and promoting interactivity, AI can support the Church’s mission while addressing the complexities of modern digital communication. This paper will analyze theoretical and practical implementations of AI in religious settings, addressing both the potential benefits and ethical considerations involved.
